Finish Line ...
I Have Done & Edited My Half Of The Evaluation. It Took 3 Hours To Edit Down The 100mins Of Footage To A Coherent 20 Minutes.
Once Rhi’s Half Is Complete, We Can Combine Them & The Audience Feedback To Complete Our Directors Commentary.

Audience feedback.
Today we have the screening of our short. Watching will be all of the A2 media students and also other film and media students who were free. Afrter showing our film we will have a question and answer session with the group. This will also be filmed.
Radio Trailer RULES!
- The trailer MUST be an audio “assault” as we have no visuals to fall back or rely on.
- We will need to layer up sounds - Music
- Dialogue
- SFX’s
- Voice over
- Ambient sounds
-The genre and...
Its Not Over Yet

DVD commentry
We have decided to film our parts for the DVD commentry separately, this is due to the fact that we want to have the it in the set up of our actors asking us questions so keeping everyone involved. But the problem with this is that we haven’t been able to all be free at the same time, so, Sam will film his with Jemma and i will film with Troy.

Its The Music That Makes It
The Music We Chose For To Accompany The Short Film Was Taken from Several Royalty Free Discs Such As Video Copilot’s “Pro Scores” & Sites Such As Newgrounds Audio Where Music Has A Creative Commons License.
The Sound Effects were either downloaded from royalty free sites, or in the libary on the college network.
The Finish Line!!
Our Short Film Is Complete, The Sound Design, The Special Effects, The Editing, Its All Finished. But No Rest For The Wicked Since We Have To Plan Our Evaluation Next.
Starting to get there!
Although we have been slightly concerned with the length of our film so far, (too short) We now have the rough visuals edit finished. We are now starting to work the sound into the film. This may take some time to find the right music and sound effects to fit correctly.
We have also started to think about our DVD commentry that we will do. Ideas so far have involved having our two actors asking...
Time To De-Stress
The Rough Cut Of Dualism Is Complete, Before We Start Crafting Music To This, I Want To Go Through It Fully With Rhi, To Get Her Take & Opinion On Things That Need To Be Changed, & Add The Credits & Titles To The Piece.
Deciding.
We are still yet to decide on the bus scene, as I am the one who filmed it I wish to look through the footage to make a final decision as to whether I think its good enough and if I like it.
Salvaging..
Editing Progress- Complete Scenes - Alley Scene - Apartment Scene - Car Park Scene
Scenes To Be Edited- - Bus Title Sequence - Park Scene
I Have No Fears For The Park Scene, As Any Errors Made, I Already Devised A Way To Fix, But As Im Looking Over The Footage From The Bus Scene Filming, Its Unbelievably Shaky, & The Focus Jumps Too Much To Get A Coherent Shot. It May Need To Be...
Due To The Way The Special Effects Are Implemented Into The Film, The Clip Must First Be Edited Together, The Section That Requires Effects Exported, Apply The Custom Effects In Motion, & Reinserted Into The Timeline.
This Is Quite Time Consuming But It Looks Effect.

Thats A Wrap
We Finished The Last Of Our Filming As Of Last Night (Assuming We Don’t Need To Go Back & Re-film Any Pieces. With Approximately 100 Mins To Digitize For Editing & The Amount Of Repeats We Did, There May Hopefully Not Be A Need To Re-Film Anything.
I Hope We Can Have A Rough Edit Prepared For Mid-Next Week, 2nd Dec.
Teleporting Test Effect #1
Shooting Day 2 - Post Mortem
After The Second Day Of Filming, We Only Have The Alley & Car Park Scene Recorded, But Even Though We Are Behind On Our Shooting Schedule, I Am Quietly & Cautiously Optimistic. The Only Issue We Encountered That Hindered Us Was The Fast Disappearing Sunlight, Causing The Scene To Darken Dramatically. I Am Going To Start Editing The Footage I Have So Far, Today.
First Hand Audience Research
We Went To The Brief Encounters Film Festival In Bristol To Obtain A Perspective On Who Short Films Are Aimed At, By The Audience. We Discovered That A Large Proportion Of The Audience, Are Film & Media Students, From Both Colleges & Universities, And The Rest Of The Audience Was Made Up Of Other Filmmakers & Friends/Families Of People Whos Films Were Showing.
This Showed, That Unlike...
The Start Of Filming.
Filming finally begins! Just as rescheduled three days ago on Monday 16th!
However i do have to make an apology to not only Sam but to our two actors Troy and Jemma, as i was unable to attend this shoot as i had a separate media lesson on a different course of which i was unable to escape from! I am however very much looking forward to our shoot next Monday.

Up-To-Date Shooting Schedule, Ver.3
Wednesday 18th - Alley (Bridgwater) Monday 23rd - Bus/Car Park Scenes (Bridgwater) Wednesday 25th - Park/Apartment Scenes (West Huntspill)
Found - Actors, Need Loving Home
After Losing Our Original Actors Due To Change In Schedule, We Have Managed To Get New Replacement Actors. Guy Will Now Be Portrayed By Troy Godfrey. He Is Rhi’s Boyfriend So He Was Easy To Recruit. Violet Was Harder To Recast As We Wanted Someone With A Certain Look That Fitted The Role As We Imagined It. Luckily I Had Recently Met Someone Called Jemma Stovell, Who Would Be In The Film If...
Further Roads Closed
After Rearranging Actors, Crew, Location, Equipment Bookings etc, We Have To Further Postpone Our Filming For Over A Week Past The Initial Deadline For Preliminary Filming; Due To Our Camera Bookings Being Cancelled By Another Teacher, Alan Hardcastle; For Another Project For Music Tech Students.
Hopefully We Can Rearrange Everything Again For When We Are Allowed Use Of The Equipment Again.
New Shooting Schedule
Monday 9th - Alley (Bridgwater) Wednesday 11th - Bus/Park Scenes (Bridgwater-West Huntspill) Friday 13th - Car Park/Apartment Scenes (West Huntspill)
The Need Of Contingency Plans
Our Initial Shooting Schedule Has Fell Through, Due To Cars Failing M.O.T’s, Actors Sudden Unavailability, & Lack Of Crew.
We Decided To Rearrange The Filming For Weekday Next Week. We Are Currently Asking Actors & Crew Again For New Schedule.
Change in location.
We have decided to change the beach scene to a car park. This is because of ease of access as the beach we would of used is hard for many to get to.
Also as the idea of Violet and the teleporting has now changed to be in his head that it seemed to be unnecessary for them to go so far to a beach. With them going to a car park it seems more consistent.
Prop List
- Authentic looking hand gun.
- Magazine with Violet on front cover.
- Flash gun and purple gels.
- Purple eye make-up.
Crew List
Camera 1: Sam Davis Camera 2: Rhi Kelly Runner 1: Amy Croker Runner 2: Dom Fell Runner 3: T.A.G Sound Person: TBA
